The Next 5 Star Wars movies and there Release dates
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (December 16, 2016) will take us to a time before Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first met on Tattoine, giving a behind-the-scenes look at how Princess Leia, R2-D2 and company came to possess the Death Star plans. Described as a "heist" movie, it will be directed by Godzilla's Gareth Edwards and star Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker and more.
Star Wars Episode VIII (May 26, 2017) will continue the story of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Rey, Finn and company as they battle the First Order, comprised of the remnants of the shattered Empire and led by Supreme Leader Snoke with a little help from Kylo Ren. The film is as-yet-untitled, although that may change soon as Rian Johnson is expected to begin principal photography this month.
Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo (May 25, 2018) is the as-yet-untitled solo film set to explore the backstory of everyone's favorite scoundrel and smuggler. Since the Star Wars Expanded Universe has been rendered non-canonical with the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm, this will be the first "official" glimpse into the character's backstory in the newly-reworked timeline. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Han Solo will reportedly be the final Star Wars movie written by The Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens' Lawrence Kasdan.
Star Wars Episode IX (2019) will be directed by Colin Trevorrow from a script by Rian Johnson. The film will likely close out the story of the battle with Kylo Ren and Snoke, as the earliest comments from Disney were that they were planning a new Star Wars trilogy. Whichever members of the The Force Awakens cast are still alive (their characters, not the actors, although presumably that too) will return for the film.
Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett (2020) is still not officially confirmed, and no creatives are officially on board, although there have been rumors for a while that the bounty hunter would have his own film. This one would also, plausibly, allow them to tie into Han Solo and/or Rogue One, creating a second, distinct timeline of Star Wars movies being released at the same time as the Episode films -- although that's pure speculation and has not been confirmed or even rumored up to now.
Transformers' Optimus Prime And Bumblebee Up For Auction
The customized vehicles that stood in for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee during big-screen chase scenes are being auctioned by Barrett-Jackson, the auction house has announced.
Optimus Prime, the iconic truck from the billions-grossing Transformers franchise will sell to the highest bidder in front of a capacity crowd that includes more than 300,000 event participants and 5.5 million television viewers worldwide. The truck will be accompanied by its brother-in-arms, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro used as Transformers: Age of Extinction's Bumblebee.
Barrett-Jackson, billed as the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will sell the two along with a number of other high-end vehicles at its Scottsdale auction at the end of January.
After its appearance on the silver screen, the Bumblebee 1967 Camaro selling at Barrett-Jackson was fully retrofitted to operate like a 2014 car and lived as part of Michael Bay's personal collection before he decided to part with it.
Deadpool Runtime Revealed?
The running time for Deadpool may have been revealed!
20th Century Fox's official website for Spain has Deadpool's runtime listed as 1 hour and 46 minutes.
That would make Deadpool one of the shorter comic book movies that Fox has produced, though, it would be 6 minutes longer than Josh Trank's Fantastic Four and 3 minutes longer than Kick-Ass 2. However, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine, Kingsman: The Secret Service and X-Men: First Class were all 126 minutes and up.
Will Smith Says It Was Terrible When He Found Out His Independence Day Character Died
Will Smith found it unpleasant to learn that the fat lady had sung on Steven Hiller, the character he played in 1996's Independence Day. "It was terrible when I found out my character died," Smith told Yahoo.
Hiller's death was revealed on a viral site for Independence Day: Resurgence. "While test piloting the ESD's first alien hybrid fighter, an unknown malfunction causes the untimely death of Col. Hiller," the site's timeline reads. "Hiller's valor in the War of '96 made him a beloved global icon whose selfless assault against the alien mothership lead directly to the enemy's defeat. He is survived by his wife Jasmine and his son Dylan." You can see an image of Hiller's fiery death by clicking here.
Smith was "working on Suicide Squad" when Independence Day: Resurgence was being shot, but Smith was approached several times in the past about reprising his role. "[IDR director] Roland [Emmerich] and I had talked about it," he admitted.
Smith did compliment the trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence and said it will be very emotional for him when he sees the film for the first time. "The trailer looks really cool," Smith offered "I’m going to be sitting around with tears in my eyes when that one comes out."
