Karen Gillan Cast In The Rock's Jumanji
The star-studded Jumanji remake keeps adding more talent, as Sony has announced that the talented Karen Gillan is officially signed on for the project.
Gillan will be playing the part of Martha (no, not that Martha), a role that took the studio a while to cast. It ultimately came down to who blended with the rest of the cast, which includes Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, with Gillan winning out in the end (via Deadline).
Warcraft Sequel Might Not Release in US Theaters
The summer was sort of a bummer as far as hit blockbuster movies. Not saying that there weren't any great movies, but most were certainly forgettable the second audiences left the theater. Speaking of forgettable, Warcraft, the big-screen adaptation of the beloved fantasy computer game of the same name, suffered the same fate - but only in the U.S.
While Warcraft (which was quite an expensive spectacle) tanked at the U.S. box office with a total of only 47 million, it soared overseas making 158 million in China alone. We can't really explain why, other than China must really love big CGI productions...

Black Widow Backstory Was Cut From Captain America: Civil War
After seeing Captain America: Civil War, fans were left wondering how Marvel Studios could one-up the film. The project stunned fans and critics alike with its thrilling story line and ensemble cast - and there's allegedly several fan-favorite scenes which didn't get included in its final cut. As confirmed by the Russo Brothers, some scenes were cut in the name of streamlining the film. Obviously, fans are interested in knowing what those scenes contained, and now, the film’s novelization is teasing that one of the scrapped scenes revealed some of Black Widow’s backstory.
According to Civil War’s novelization, a conversation between Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) seems like it was removed from the film. While fans aren’t sure where the dialogue was located originally, some have speculated the scene probably occurred during Peggy Carter’s funeral. If you want to check out the exchange, feel free to read it below:
“Natasha studied Cap's expression of resolve. Finally, she said, "In Russia, in the Red Room, there were dozens of us. All girls, all young. We lived together. They let us be friends. Then they dropped us in the tundra, two weeks' walk from home, with just enough supplies for one of us to survive.”
Cap looked at her, understanding her meaning.
"Don't let them push us into the cold," she said.”

The Flash Movie Will Feature An Appearance By Justice League Member Cyborg
Justice League's Ray Fisher will appear in The Flash as Cyborg, Variety reports.
According to the trade, there's no details about what role he'll play or how much of the film he'll be in, but that his presence is meant to build on Justice League and help firm up the shared-universe feel of DC's movies.
How The Legend Of Conan Begins
this won't be a sequel to the 2011 film, but rather to the original 1982 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, titled The Legend of Conan.
Screenwriter Will Beall recently spoke toSlashFilm about where the project stands at the moment, and that it will definitely start right where the original film left off.
“It opens there,” Beall said. “It opens with this [hand on the chin]. It’s where you have to. It’s the sequel that we were promised and never got. I’m 11 when my father took me to seeConan the Barbarian which you should never take an 11-year-old kid to. It was a life changing thing. It’s an unbelievable movie. It comes back to [director John] Milius, right? There’s nobody better and it’s a real movie. It’s a truthful movie. Chris and I from the very beginning said there’s no reason to do it unless it’s a worthy sequel to Milius’s Conan and I think we’ve got that. I really do.”
The film remains in development, but Beall and Chris Morgan are hopeful that it will eventually go into production and thinks they already have a solid foundation.
“Chris and I are continuing to hone,” Beall said. “I think that’s going to be a great movie actually.”
Aquaman Screenwriter Talks Setting Of Film
With a hero like Arthur Curry, it wouldn't be a stretch for fans to assume that the majority of the movie takes place in the water. According to Will Beall, who is writing the screenplay for Aquaman, that is really not the case at all (via Slashfilm).
“I can tell you that not all of the action takes place underwater,” Beall said. “Some of the most fun action in the movie actually takes place on dry land.” When asked if it was completed yet, he responded: “Nope, I am still working on it with James [Wan] and Geoff [Johns]."
The character has experienced a major resurgence in recent years, thanks to Geoff John's fantastic New 52 series, which has been followed up by an equally impressive arc from writer Dan Abnett during DC's Rebirth initiative. The hero is much more than just "the water guy", and Wan and company are hoping to finally prove that to audiences in the character's solo project.
Beall was also asked if Justice League, which is still filming, would or could at some point alter plans for Aquaman.
