Ben Whishaw Up For Michael Banks Role In Mary Poppins Sequel

Disney is looking to deliver a sequel to one of their classic films and is reportedly about to add another actor to the cast.
Actor Ben Whishaw is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Rob Marshall's Mary Poppins sequel as an older Michael Banks (via THR). Banks is the son of George Banks and the brother of Jane Banks, who will also be in the film. The new story revolves around Michael, as a personal tragedy is what brings Jane back into the fold.
That is also what ultimately brings back Mary Poppins, played by Emily Blunt, and her friend Jack, played by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film will be set 25 years after the original film, which released in 1964.
