Star Wars: The Force Awakens Reaches $250 Million Worldwide Gross in 3 Days

Spain. Japan. UK. Germany. Australia. Sweden. Chile. And of course, the U.S.
Everywhere you look, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is setting records. The film is #1 in 44 foreign markets now, and in the three days of release, Wednesday-Friday, the global box office gross has already passed the $250 million mark. That's already a recoup of the $200 million production budget and then some, without even a single weekend day under its belt.
That's all without yet opening in China, which has become one of the top three, if not top two, markets in the world - it doesn't open there until January 9. It still has a long way to go to beatJurassic World's global debut (which did have China) of $524.9 million, but with the domestic record well in hand, new industry estimates are shooting well above $300 million domestic - which should be plenty for a new worldwide record, too.
