Robert Downey Jr. Wholeheartedly Agrees With Iron Man In Captain America: Civil War

Robert Downey Jr. has been playing Tony Stark for a while, but things we’ll be a bit different for him this next time around. Rather than playing the hero, Iron Man will be the antagonist of Captain America: Civil War. The role reversal isn’t a problem for Downey.

“It didn’t bother me at all,” Downey tells EW. “I’ve always thought of it in some ways that Tony is the antagonist to himself in his own story, so this isn’t a problem. This guy understands problems ‘cause he is a problem. And he tends to create problems.”
In fact, Downey says that, for once, he’s entirely behind Stark’s actions.
“I’m not having to patter around what I think the worldview is,” Downey says. “I wholeheartedly agree with what he does in this. Which is, by the way, more than I could say for some of the other movies.”
