With the film set to release this Friday, Fandango is reporting the much-anticipated movie has already broken one big record. As of today, Suicide Squad stands as the site’s top pre-seller of all-time for the month of August, beating out previous champs like Guardians of the Galaxy and Straight Outta Compton.
While the site hasn’t reported exact the number of tickets they've sold, Fandango’s announcement has solidified current box office predictions that say Suicide Squad will open with a $130-140 million grossing. If it rakes in that kind of cash, Suicide Squad will outdo openings from other superhero contenders like Deadpool ($132 million) and X-Men: Apocalypse ($65 million). And, if it manages to gross over $166 million, Suicide Squad could knock Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from its lofty spot.
